Holy Gifts of Wisdom

Strength is a strong subject to me. It may be because of the many times I felt I wasn't strong enough or capable of doing certain things. But as I study the word of God, it shows me the true meaning of having strength. Many people refer strength to being strong or weak in the flesh but God’s word shares with us a whole new insight on what it means to have strength.

In the Philippians 4:13 tells us "I can do all this through him that gives me strength". The old me would not have understood how powerful that one sentence is but as I read it, I now know what the true meaning of strength is. God gives us strength. Quoted from Isaiah 40:29 God shares with us "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak". So then I begin to fill in the rest of the puzzle pieces to say that strength isn't external it’s internal.  God places strength in our hearts, mind, body, and soul for his good works.

So now if someone would ask me, “Howard what's strength?” I can gladly respond from Psalm 118:14 “The LORD is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation."
